Quality Assurance Assistant

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant to join our team, ensuring food safety and compliance systems are maintained and improved. This role is crucial for driving high compliance standards through system initiatives supported by the Food Safety and Compliance team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive member of the team, dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide support for the Technical department, including maintaining logs, trackers, and completing administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the New Product Development (NPD) process teams to ensure accurate implementation of new and amended products into the document control system and factory.
  • Manage the calibration of testing equipment within risk-assessed timescales and handle external calibration requirements.
  • Execute improvement tasks as directed by Technical Management to ensure compliance with third-party audit and customer code of practice standards.
  • Generate and present Technical KPI data in a visual format, including trending to enable the site management team to assess food quality, safety, and legality.
  • Prepare Export Compliance documentation daily according to scheduled requirements.
  • Maintain and update document control for Technical systems and ensure Quality & Environmental Management System documents are current.
  • Create and maintain work instructions/procedures within the technical department.
  • Handle technical purchase order invoicing and provide support for the Technical Compliance Manager and Technologist in project work, validation, and routine schedules of work.
  • Maintain and update factory technical compliance software and ensure effective document control for all change management.
  • Participate actively in site traceability and internal audit teams.


Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum one-year experience in a QA or Technical role within the food industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Higher education qualification in Food Quality/Food Safety is desirable.
  • HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety qualification at level 2 or higher are advantageous.
