Job summary

A leading coatings company in Shildon is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to assist in maintaining the Quality Assurance system. Responsibilities include validation of checks, oversight of audits, and maintenance of quality records. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of lab testing methods and experience in continuous improvement methods. This role offers growth opportunities in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and standards is desirable.
• Good IT skills are required.
• Understanding of industry specifications/test methods preferred.
• Experience as an Internal Quality Auditor is a plus.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methods (SPC, FMEA, Lean) is beneficial.

• Assist in development and maintenance of Quality Assurance system.

• Maintain KPIs and escalate red flag issues.

Job description

Quality Assurance Analyst

Contract type: Fixed Term

Contract type: Permanent

FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE:

To assist the Quality Assurance Manager in the development, maintenance and communication of the company Quality Assurance system.

The key roles the FTC will be conducting (as a minimum):

• Validation of balance checks
• KPI
• Stamp and CASAC routine oversight
• Purchase Orders
• Audit – canteen, screening, gowning, rooms
• EHS hazard logging
• 5S oversight/management
• Training management
• Quality day organization

Desirable

• Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and the standards pertaining to those methods
• Good IT skills
• Understanding and knowledge of industry specifications / test methods
• Good understanding and knowledge of International, National and Customer Quality systems standards.
• Qualified and experienced Internal Quality Auditor
• Knowledge, understanding in the use of Continuous Improvement methods and techniques (SPC, FMEA, Standard Operations, Lean, Sigma Logic, Value Stream etc)

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• To maintain, control and communicate the company Quality System documentation.
• Maintain KPI’s and reports for the Quality department and escalation of red flag issues to quality management.
• To administer and review the Non-Conformance, corrective and preventive action systems via QMS systems where necessary.
• To support the internal quality audit programme
• To monitor and maintain the quality record storage systems.
• To oversee the calibration and equipment verification system – maintaining records and the completion of these records. Raising problems to the quality engineers or quality manager
• To support risk management of non conformances raised through calibration.
• To assist the Quality Manager in the administration of customer and third party quality audits, and the maintenance of Quality system and product approvals, including visit screening
• Coordinate the maintenance of record control and compliance to the required templates and systems across the site.
• To maintain the smooth running of the Quality Assurance department by covering absenteeism or work load fluctuations
• Update and maintain supplier quality agreements
• Administrate the update of specification and raw material changes within ERP system from information given by other departments
