We are in search of Quality Assurance Reviewing Officers to join our expanding team. This dynamic position, reporting to the service manager, requires a commitment to providing a quality assurance and reviewing service across various levels of need, with the aim of driving strengths-based practice and culture.
As a Quality Assurance Reviewing Officer (QARO), you will ensure that statutory and regulatory safeguarding requirements are met for independent reviewing for children in care, child protection, and fostering reviewing functions. Additionally, you will focus on delivering and improving services for children, young people, and their families through the provision of high-quality independent oversight of practice and effective partnership working with all those involved with the child.
The role involves providing independent, professional support and challenge, and being accountable for service improvement, ensuring quality assurance of practice across the entire service. You will champion a child’s right to family life and play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Local Authority provides the best care possible for children who need to be looked after.
The primary responsibility of a QARO is to ensure that children are central to the assessment of their needs and any plans to support them. This includes ensuring that the voice of the child or young person is heard, that children are a central focus in decision making, and that their rights and responsibilities are championed.
Key responsibilities also include organizing and facilitating a range of meetings to meet statutory obligations under the Children Act 1989 and Working Together 2023, with a focus on building relationships, ensuring effective participation, and taking a strengths-based approach.
