Job summary

Attest is looking for a pioneer Quality Engineer to build and own quality across the platform. You’ll lead the shift from manual checks to automated, scalable quality practices, partnering with engineers and product teams from day one.

Role blends strategy, tooling, and hands-on automation, with equity options and a flexible hybrid work model. You’ll shape test strategy, implement greenfield automation, and drive quality from inception through release, leveraging AI tooling to enhance

Qualifications

• Shaping how a team builds and ships quality, not just executing tests.
• Strong test automation experience with JUnit, Cypress, and Storybook.
• Ability to reason about validating unfamiliar systems across a multi-language stack.
• Genuine use of AI tools in day-to-day engineering work.
• Experience running regression and test management at scale.
• Prevention mindset to reduce defects and improve process.
• Influence without formal authority and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
• Comfort with ambiguity and autonomy in a growing Quality function.

Responsibilities

• Set the direction for quality at Attest. Decide test strategy, coverage standards, definitions of done and release confidence.
• Build the automation layer. Stand up automated testing; greenfield with options for JUnit, Cypress, and Storybook.
• Get quality in early, everywhere. Review proposals before code exists with engineers.
• Decide what's worth testing by risk and value; avoid over-testing.
• Root-cause and feedback: translate production issues into process/tooling changes.
• Work AI-natively: explore AI tooling within the quality pipeline and take initiative.
• Define quality metrics that drive change and justify improvements.
