Job summary

Irwin and Colton in Guildford is seeking a hands-on Quality and Compliance Assistant to support compliance across its operations on a site basis. The role involves assisting with inspections, audits and document control while contributing to continuous improvement within the Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Compliance (HSEQ) framework.

You will work closely with site teams and the wider HSEQ function to ensure procedures and standards are followed, identifying improvements and driving

Qualifications

• Background in a quality or compliance role, ideally within industrial environments such as waste/recycling or heavy manufacturing.
• Experience with ISO 9001, including auditing and dealing with external auditors.
• Strong attention to detail, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001
• Carry out routine quality inspections and internal audits, supporting customer and external certification audits
• Record quality non-conformances, identify corrective actions and monitor these through to completion
• Maintain quality registers, documentation and KPIs, while supporting investigations into complaints, defects and recurring issues
• Work closely with operational teams to identify trends, improve processes and drive continuous quality improvement

Would you like to join a growing waste and recycling business in a hands-on role supporting compliance across its operations?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within Quality and compliance, working closely with operational teams and the wider HSEQ function.

The role will be practical and site-based, with a broad range of responsibilities including inspections, audits, document control, action tracking, compliance administration and supporting continuous improvement across the business.

You'll have the opportunity to work closely with site teams, helping ensure that company procedures and standards are being followed while identifying areas for improvement and supporting actions through to completion.
