Job summary

Kerry Menstrie Site is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join the Quality Team. The role focuses on testing end products and in-process samples within an analytical department shift. You will work as part of a rotating team to ensure accurate results and compliance with defined methods.

Required is a minimum HND in chemistry and at least two years in an analytical lab, with experience in HPLC/GC, UV-Vis, AAS, and wet chemistry. IT skills with Word/Excel/PowerPoint are essential.

Qualifications

• HND in chemistry or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years in analytical laboratory experience.
• Experience with HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, AAS and wet chemistry methods.
• Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to work in rotating shifts including weekends.
• Experience of working in a food testing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process, and end products.
• Communicate results clearly to production and quality personnel.
• Record results in the electronic system promptly and accurately.
• Conduct organoleptic assessment of end products.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment per schedule and perform hygiene audits.

About the role

The Kerry Menstrie Site, part of the Kerry Group, is looking to recruit a Quality Control Technician within the Quality Team who will be responsible for testing end products and in process as part of the analytical department shift team.

Key Responsibilities

• Working in a team structure within a rotating pattern (including weekends)
• Accurate and timely execution of analytical testing to defined methods (raw material, in process and end product)
• Effective communication of results to production and quality personnel
• Accurate and timely reporting of results in the appropriate electronic system
• Organoleptic assessment of end products
• Laboratory equipment calibration as per schedule
• Hygiene audits as per schedule

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum HND level (in chemistry or related discipline)
• Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role
• Experience in:
• Chromatography (ideally HPLC & GC)
• Spectrophotometry (UV VIS)
• Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy
• Wet Chemistry methods including colour change titrations
• Maintenance and calibration of all laboratory equipment to ensure effective operation
• Proficient in IT systems in particular Word/Excel/PowerPoint
• Flexibility
• Experience of working in a food testing environment
