About the role

Join our Power Transmission & Distribution team as a Quality Advisor based in the Norwich and Ipswich region and surrounding areas, and be part of our legacy.

Role Purpose:

  • Support Balfour Beatty in delivering projects in accordance with customer and stakeholder requirements and commitments, including verification activities to demonstrate compliance against Balfour Beatty requirements, external accreditations, and industry good practice.
  • Support the coordination, submission, compliance, and management of all assurance activities and the resolution of assurance-related issues.
  • Ensure the implementation of procedures, including submissions from the supply chain and establishing test and inspection plans for the delivery of works.

What you'll be doing

  • Attend pre-start meetings for significant projects in terms of value, complexity, or QA/QC requirements.
  • Support project teams in developing quality plans and inspection & test plans, ensuring customer/project requirements are met, and review those from the supply chain.
  • Assist delivery teams in achieving required deliverables, managing issues, and providing quality advice to the supply chain where appropriate.
  • Use existing systems to establish and agree sample and benchmark plans with customers and supply chain.
  • Utilize digital systems to monitor quality planning, production, and issue management against targets.
  • Support the Quality team during internal and external audits.
  • Implement project or business stream quality strategies, plans, and actions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in training, coaching, and developing quality skills, sharing lessons learned.
  • Support investigations and reporting on quality-related issues as required.
  • Support the use of digital tools to enhance project governance and quality assurance, including training on these tools.

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experiences are essential:

  • Prior quality experience and/or relevant operational/technical experience in the industry sector.
  • Level 4+ Qualification in Quality, Construction, or Manufacturing (or PCQI).
  • Knowledge of ISO9000 Terminology.
  • Understanding and commitment to Quality Management.
  • Awareness of business improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate facts.
  • Attention to detail and persistence to see tasks through.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • Effective oral and written reporting skills.
  • Ability to challenge existing methods and think innovatively.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in modern office systems and technology, e.g., Office 365.
  • Either a CQI Practitioner or working towards Practitioner status.

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor trained.
  • Awareness of sector-specific certifications and requirements.
  • Experience with Digital Progressive Assurance systems/Electronic Forms.
  • Operational experience in construction or asset management.
