Are you looking for step into the world of work? or maybe a career change? We are excited to announce we are now recruiting for a Quality Administrator. With the role, the successful candidate will undertake a technical apprenticeship as well as being trained and coached by and us. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated with a willingness to learn and a keen interest in science, the successful candidate will hold an A Level (or equivalent) in a Science based subject (Chemistry, Biology, Physics).

The Company

Vestey Foods UK is a Food Importer that is a fourth-generation family business which operates in the sourcing, development, production and distribution of food products. It provides a wide range of food products for foodservice, retailers, public institutions, wholesalers, and manufacturers predominantly in the UK.

The role will include administration to maintain our Business Management Systems. The BRCGS and ISO standards that we use define the systems that ensure the products and services provided by Vestey Foods UK are safe and legal and meet the quality aspirations of our customers and stakeholders.

The role will report to the Technical Manager and will primarily support the Foodservice and Commercial Trading business unit. Opportunity will be given for working experience within other business functions with Vestey Foods UK, for example: operations, finance, and logistics.

The successful candidate will be trained and coached by the Head of Technical Services and Technical Managers and has the potential to progress through the company structure as opportunities arise in both the Technical function and other functions.

Main purpose of the role

To ensure the documented management systems are maintained and improved, ensuring procedures describe the activities and working practices, and that the recording of activities is understood and completed by the relevant personnel. Through audits and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI s) keep the management team informed of performance against targets enabling decisions to be made that help achieve the overall business goals of profitable growth in existing and new areas.

Quality Administrator Duties and responsibility

• Supporting the Non-Conformance Procedure and process (including customer and consumer complaints).
• Supporting the completion of customer technical documentation
• Supporting the maintenance of the Document Control system.
• Supporting the maintenance of the Internal Audit program.
• Supporting the maintenance of the Specifications Database.
• Supporting the maintenance of the Suppliers Approval and Monitoring Risk Assessment.
• Supporting the Management Review Meetings.
• Supporting the Mock Recall Exercises and Mock Crisis Management Exercises with other members of the Technical team.
• Entering data onto company and customer electronic documents and portals.
  
  

Candidate Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills And Experience

• A level(s) in Natural Science i.e., Chemistry, Biology, Physics
• Proficient in the use of IT. Good understanding of MS Excel and Word. Training will be given on all other software used.
