Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services

Team: Support and Protect

Location: Cumbria

Pay Rate: Up to £50 per hour

Contract Type: Agency (Full-time, 5 days per week – no condensed hours)

Are you a passionate and experienced Children’s Social Worker ready to make a real impact? Pertemps Professional Recruitment is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Qualified Social Worker to join a well-established Support and Protect Team in Cumbria. About the Role

As part of the Support and Protect service, you will work with children and families to assess needs, identify risks, and implement interventions that offer early and effective support. The service works closely with Early Help and Prevention colleagues to provide wraparound support, helping families thrive and reducing the need for long-term statutory involvement.

You will:

• Manage a varied caseload of children and families.
• Undertake assessments and develop care and protection plans.
• Work on child protection and court cases where needed.
• Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to deliver the best outcomes.
• Attend the office 3 days per week (2 days working from home), with one full-duty office week every 5 weeks.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• A Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experienced in child protection, safeguarding, and court work.
• Skilled in working with children, families, and multi-agency teams.
• Able to build trust and positive relationships with families.
• Confident in assessment, planning, and implementing effective interventions.
• Committed to achieving the best outcomes for children.
• A minimum of 4 years post-qualified experience is preferred.
