Support and Protect

Are you an experienced and passionate Social Worker, looking for career progression?

Pertemps Profession Recruitment is seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Support and Protect team. As part of this authority’s Support and Protect service, you will work in a busy, supportive team assessing and working with vulnerable children and their families, intervening where children need support to provide help at an earlier stage.

It is essential that you have child protection and court experience. The service maintains strong links with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support for children and families when social care involvement is no longer necessary. Successful candidates must be able to attend the locality for 3 days in the area, 2 days working from home, 5 days per week with no condensed days, including 1 week every 5 weeks where you are required to be in every day for duty.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, informed by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet their needs.

You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes for your interventions, striving to provide the best outcomes for children using best practices. Ideal candidate will be:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
• SW, CSS, DipSW, or Social Work Degree; creative, flexible, and forward-thinking
• Experience working in a Social Services Directorate or statutory/voluntary agency

• Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
• Experience working with diverse client groups
