Pay rate: £33.30 per hour

Are you an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker looking for career progression? We are seeking experienced social workers to join a Safeguarding Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a local authority in the West Midlands, proud of their GOOD Ofsted status.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record, excellent report writing skills, and experience in court work, planning for permanency, and writing CPRs and Annex A. A strong background in parenting assessments, viability assessments, and producing evidence that withstands scrutiny is essential. Excellent risk assessment abilities and outstanding written communication skills are also required.

We offer regular supervision, including monthly group reflective sessions. You will be working in a busy, supportive team that assesses and works with children and families, intervening where children need support to achieve positive outcomes. Your assessment work will involve direct engagement with children and families, partnering with agencies such as police and health services to ensure sustainable, positive change.

The service maintains a strong connection with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care intervention is no longer needed. You will work in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, supporting the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions.

By applying your social work expertise and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and agencies to meet identified needs. Your commitment will help ensure positive and sustainable outcomes, striving to provide the best for children and families. Your passion for supporting vulnerable children and their families is paramount.

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups

  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement
  • Skilled in mediation and negotiation
  • Experienced in building meaningful relationships with children and families
  • Committed to high-quality service delivery
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary, interagency work
  • 4+ years qualified

In this role, you will:
