Qualified Social Worker (QSW) - Long Term Team

Location:

Aberdeen House, Ramsgate CT11 9ST

Rate:

Up to £38 per hour

Hybrid Working:

Hybrid model available - flexibility to work from home or in the office

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Long Term Team based in Ramsgate, Kent. You will be responsible for providing ongoing support and intervention for children and families in the long-term care system, working to ensure their needs are met and supporting their journey towards permanence through fostering, adoption, or other arrangements.

The ideal candidate will have experience with looked-after children, a passion for child protection, and a commitment to ensuring stability, safety, and positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Case Management: Manage a complex caseload of children in care, ensuring interventions and plans meet their needs and statutory requirements.
  2. Long-Term Planning: Secure long-term placements or permanency for children, including fostering, adoption, and SGOs.
  3. Multi-Agency Collaboration: Liaise with professionals, agencies, and families for coordinated support.
  4. Assessments & Reviews: Conduct comprehensive assessments and reviews, providing reports for case reviews, court hearings, and meetings.
  5. Supervision & Support: Supervise and support carers, ensuring safeguarding and children's needs are met.
  6. Legislation Compliance: Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, court orders, and legislation; contribute to care plans and risk assessments.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Social Work Qualification: Must be registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience: In long-term care planning, child protection, and case management within the public sector or similar setting.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act and statutory guidance.
  • Case Management Skills: Proven ability to manage caseloads, produce assessments, and develop support plans.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to present cases in court.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility & Commitment: Proactive, flexible, and dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable children.
