Role: Qualified Social Worker, Older People and Physical Disabilities Team

Pay rate: £33.76 per hour

Vitalis is recruiting a Qualified Social Worker to work in an Older People and Physical Disabilities Team in Southwark. The role involves:

  • Access to comprehensive training, including on-site, Microsoft Teams-led, and e-learning options, supporting Continuing Professional Development and best practices in strengths-based statutory social care.
  • Flexible working arrangements, use of Team Oyster card for visits, and a supportive management structure prioritizing supervision and reflective practice.
  • Opportunities for transition to a permanent contract and further qualifications such as Practice Assessor or Best Interests Assessor.
  • Location is convenient, with the Queens Road office in Southwark, well-connected by bus and train.
  • Handling varied and challenging cases, supporting the development of team members. The initial contract is for 3 months, with potential for extension.
Team Overview and Responsibilities:

The team manages long-term, complex social work interventions with older adults and physically disabled individuals, including mental health, substance misuse, mental capacity assessments, Court of Protection work, Safeguarding enquiries, and assessments under the Care Act 2014. Caseload management ensures social workers can dedicate adequate time to each case. Candidates should have 3-4 years of post-qualifying statutory experience working with adults with complex needs, preferably in community settings.
