Older Adults & Physical Disabilities
Location: Cumbria
Pay rate: £34 per hour

Are you an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker, looking for career progression? Pertemps Professional Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join the Older Adults & Physical Disabilities Team based in the North West. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Adults Services, preferably within Older Adults & Physical Disabilities. The successful candidate must be able to access the local authority 2-3 days per week and be registered with Social Work England. All candidates must have previous experience working in Adult Social Care and a good understanding of relevant legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act, and Mental Health Act. The Single Assessment Process provides a person-centred health and social care framework, including entry into the system, holistic assessment, care planning, care delivery, and review.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills will help you establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.

You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes from your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to operate as efficiently as possible.

Ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • SW, CSS, DipSW, or Social Work Degree; creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
  • Experience working in a Social Services Directorate or other statutory or voluntary agency.
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for individuals and their families.
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
  • Experience working with a range of client groups within an agency.
  • Skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
  • Committed to providing high-quality service to users.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment.
  • Knowledge of legislation related to general social work practice.
  • 4+ years qualified.

In this role, you will:

  • Use your skills, knowledge, and experience to conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
  • Manage an agreed caseload.
  • Utilise specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes for service users.
  • Develop individual care plans, considering diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment.
  • Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students to foster development.
