Qualified Social Worker

Location: Merseyside


Pay rate: £39 per hour


We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join the MASH Team based in Merseyside. In this role, you will be dedicated to providing an effective, child-centred service to children in need of support and protection. Your responsibilities include contributing to service strategies, policies, and procedures as required.


This team works directly with children and their families, collaborating with agencies including the police and health services to ensure the best possible outcomes and sustainable positive change. The service maintains strong links with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support for children and families when social care intervention is no longer necessary.


Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, guided by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Leveraging your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions regarding appropriate interventions. Using your significant Social Work expertise and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet identified needs.


You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes from your interventions. Striving for best practices, your goal will be to provide optimal outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and operate efficiently.


Ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement for children’s outcomes
  • Skilled in mediation and negotiation on behalf of service users
  • Excellent at building relationships with children and families for assessments and planning
  • Committed to delivering high-quality services
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary, interagency work
  • 4+ years qualified experience

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs
  • Manage an agreed caseload
  • Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Develop individual care plans respecting diversity, dignity, and empowerment
  • Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students to aid their development
