Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Manchester Council, Children and Families Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.

The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support service users and their families to secure positive outcomes in accordance with statutory responsibilities, adhering to local and national policies and procedures.
  2. Work with City Council colleagues, partner agencies, and stakeholders to effectively manage and plan for present and future risk situations relating to service users.
  3. Assess and plan person-centred packages to meet the individual needs of service users and promote their independence.
  4. Develop and manage relationships to support service users and their families in line with statutory obligations and through complex decision making.
  5. In conjunction with partner agencies and stakeholders, effectively assess and plan service users' individual needs to ensure positive outcomes.
  6. Develop positive and effective solutions in all aspects of service delivery and engagement.
  7. Engage with stakeholders in the private and public sectors to encourage a collaborative approach that promotes service users' needs.
  8. Efficiently maintain accurate and appropriate records in accordance with statutory targets and policies.
  9. Liaise with other professionals.
  10. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
  11. 3 month Temporary Contract.
  12. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.
