Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Localities Team
West Yorkshire
£35 per hour (agency role)

Are you a dedicated and experienced Social Worker ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and families? We're looking for passionate professionals to join our Children’s Localities Team – a fast-paced, supportive, and collaborative team making early interventions that truly matter.

The Role
As a Qualified Social Worker in our Localities Team, you’ll play a key role in assessing and supporting children and families, focusing on early help and long-term, positive change. You’ll be involved in:
  • Carrying out Section 47 enquiries
  • Progressing cases to Initial Child Protection Conference
  • Leading Child in Need (CIN) work and permanence planning from day one
  • Working closely with key partners (police, health, education) to achieve the best outcomes
  • Building strong connections with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help teams
This role offers the opportunity to use your expertise to make sound decisions, build meaningful relationships, and be a strong advocate for children’s welfare.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is not only qualified and registered with Social Work England, but someone who’s driven by the desire to help children thrive.
Ideal candidates will have:
  • 3+ years post-qualified experience in children and families social work
  • Solid experience across Court work, CIN, and Child Protection
  • Strong understanding of the impact of abuse, neglect, and trauma
  • Proven ability to complete effective Child & Family Assessments
  • Confidence in leading direct work with children and families
  • Up-to-date knowledge of child protection legislation
  • A creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach
  • Excellent communication, mediation, and negotiation skills
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and achieving the best outcomes for every child
