Independent Reviewing Officer

Location: Midlands
Pay rate: £40 per hour

We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join the IRO Team. In this role, you will chair Independent Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, Children Looked After reviews, and Foster Carer Annual Reviews, ensuring all are within statutory time limits and adhere to statutory guidelines.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, supported by the values and principles of social care, you will help deliver person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Your professional knowledge and experience will enable you to make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Using your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you’ll establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet their needs.

You’ll be committed to achieving positive and sustainable outcomes for children. Using best practices, you’ll strive to provide the best outcomes for children, with a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is protecting the most vulnerable and operating efficiently.

Ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking.
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues.
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement for children’s outcomes.
  • Skilled in mediation and negotiation on behalf of service users.
  • Excellent at building relationships with children and families for assessments and planning.
  • Committed to high-quality service delivery.
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary, interagency work.
  • 4+ years qualified experience.

In this role, you will:
