Qualified Social Worker, Independent Reviewing Officer

Pay rate: £40 per hour

Contract role

Vitalis is recruiting qualified social workers for the role of Independent Reviewing Officer in Stockport Council.

The initial contract is for 4 months to cover sickness absence. The role involves working 30 hours over 4 days per week, with flexible start and finish times and flexible working options, including use of TOIL. The primary responsibility is to review plans for cared-for children and pathway plans of care leavers. Some team members also chair CP conferences; although not expected, occasional requests to undertake this work may occur to support the service.

The role is hybrid. Our office base is at Grand Central, Stockport (48-52 Grand Central, Wellington Road South, Stockport, SK1 3SS). While there is an option to work from home, reviews are preferred to be held in person. The post holder must be able to travel to Stockport to conduct reviews and visit children. There are no fixed office days, but we often hold face-to-face supervision, monthly team meetings, and training at the Civic Campus near Grand Central. Most children reside in Stockport or the surrounding GM area, with some placements further afield.
