Qualified Social Worker
Family Safeguarding

Location: Lancashire

Pay rate: £41 per hour

We are looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Family Safeguarding team. As part of this team, you will work in a busy and supportive environment assessing and working with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide earlier help. You will carry out Section 47 Enquiries, progress cases to Initial Family Safeguarding Conferences, and work with children in need, planning for permanence from day one. Your role involves completing assessment work directly with children and families, partnering with agencies including police and health to ensure the best outcomes with sustainable positive change. The service maintains strong links with Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care involvement is no longer necessary. Throughout your work, you will uphold and champion best practices.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant social work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet their needs.

You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes for children. Using best practices, you will strive to provide the best outcomes for children, with a passion for supporting children and families to thrive and flourish.   • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.

  • Skilled in mediation and negotiation to advocate for service users.
  • Excellent at building relationships with children and families.

  • Over 4 years qualified.

  • Manage an agreed caseload.
