Qualified Social Worker, Duty and Assessment Team
Pay rate £38 per hour

Vitalis is recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to work in the Duty and Assessment Team in Wigan.

The Duty service in Wigan comprises 5 duty teams and a Duty Academy. You will be on Duty one week in five, supported by a Team Manager, Advanced Practitioner, and Senior Social Worker. Families in Duty require expert assessment and intervention skills at the initial stage of support.

The work in the Duty Service is fast-paced. You will work on one of the 5 Duty teams, operating on a 5-week cycle, meaning you are on Duty once every 5 weeks. The teams handle cases at various transfer points, including Initial Child Protection Case Conferences, first CLA reviews, first PLO meetings, and third CIN meetings. Cases are not held long-term; after assessment and intervention, the case is transferred to the appropriate team for ongoing support.
