Job Title: Social Worker – Duty and Assessment Team
Location: Preston, Chorley and South Ribble
Rate:£36 per hour

The Lancashire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Duty and Assessment team, covering Preston, Chorley, and South Ribble.

What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will undertake assessments and develop plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children. You will complete CAFA, Section 47 enquiries, CIN plans, and attend ICPC meetings. Additionally, you will prepare for court applications as needed, including private law reports such as Section 7 and Section 37. You will collaborate with professionals from various agencies including health, education, police, and youth offending services. Your work will involve engaging with children and families facing complex challenges to determine the appropriate support.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role, you should have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, and hold a qualification in Social Work at degree level. You will need a minimum of 3 years post-qualified experience as a social worker. Experience working with children and young people in a statutory role, preferably within the children in our care team, is essential. You should have knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with complex needs. Additionally, you must have the ability to drive and access to your own vehicle for undertaking visits. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also crucial for this role.
