Are you an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker looking to make a real impact in children's lives?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a progressive and supportive Local Authority in Greater Manchester, seeking skilled Social Workers to join their Court & Locality Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a varied caseload that includes Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Care Proceedings. Enjoy true flexibility — as long as you meet your statutory requirements and complete visits, you manage your own diary.

The Role
  • Managing a diverse caseload of CIN, CP, and court-involved families
  • Conducting robust assessments and planning effective interventions
  • Writing high-quality reports for case conferences and court
  • Building trusted relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
  • Championing child-centred practice and securing long-term positive outcomes
What We’re Looking For
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Degree or equivalent in SOCIAL WORK
  • Experienced (4+ years PQ) in safeguarding, court, and statutory children’s work
  • Confident in child protection legislation and local authority procedures
  • Excellent at building rapport and maintaining professional relationships with children and families
  • Collaborative team players who thrive in multi-agency settings
  • Flexible, resilient, and passionate about improving outcomes

  • Undertake assessments of risk and need
  • Deliver individualised care and protection plans
  • Use your communication skills to achieve the best outcomes
  • Support and mentor students or less experienced staff
