Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Conference & Review Manager, Stoke on Trent City Council, Childrens Services Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
The responsibilities will include:
- To act as an independent Chair for relevant meetings in respect of the Child Protection and Looked After Children systems.
- To promote full participation of children and their families in the child protection and Looked After Children processes.
- To ensure high quality practice, sensitive to the needs of looked after children and children requiring child protection plans.
- To ensure that diversity is valued and promoted.
- To ensure all work undertaken is in accordance with statutory requirements, Directorate and Local Safeguarding Children Board policy and guidelines.
- To contribute to the work of inter-agency forums including the Safeguarding Children Board.
- To facilitate problem resolution concerning a child’s Care or Protection Plan.
- To be responsible for ensuring that relevant advice and guidance in the Directorate, Council and from external agencies and organisations is effectively implemented.
- Liaise with other professionals.
- 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
- 3 month Temporary Contract.
- Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
