Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Conference & Review Manager, Stoke on Trent City Council, Childrens Services Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.

The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.

The responsibilities will include:

  1. To act as an independent Chair for relevant meetings in respect of the Child Protection and Looked After Children systems.
  2. To promote full participation of children and their families in the child protection and Looked After Children processes.
  3. To ensure high quality practice, sensitive to the needs of looked after children and children requiring child protection plans.
  4. To ensure that diversity is valued and promoted.
  5. To ensure all work undertaken is in accordance with statutory requirements, Directorate and Local Safeguarding Children Board policy and guidelines.
  6. To contribute to the work of inter-agency forums including the Safeguarding Children Board.
  7. To facilitate problem resolution concerning a child’s Care or Protection Plan.
  8. To be responsible for ensuring that relevant advice and guidance in the Directorate, Council and from external agencies and organisations is effectively implemented.
  9. Liaise with other professionals.
  10. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
  11. 3 month Temporary Contract.
  12. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
