Pay Rate: £35 per hour

We’re recruiting a Qualified Social Worker to join the Adoption & Permanence Team at Derbyshire County Council — a vital role for those passionate about securing lifelong stability for children through adoption.

About the Role

This is a specialist role focused on supporting children who have adoption as their care plan. You’ll play a key part in preparing these children for their forever homes by:

• Completing high-quality Child Permanence Reports (CPRs)
• Supporting matching and placement processes with prospective adopters
• Working closely with multi-agency professionals to secure positive, stable outcomes for children

You will work with compassion, precision, and professionalism to ensure children receive the care and permanence they deserve.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Social Work England registration
• 3+ years post-qualified experience in Children’s Social Work
• Experience in adoption or permanence planning is highly desirable
• Strong assessment and analytical skills (especially for writing CPRs)
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a supportive team
• A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
