Qualified Social Worker

Children in Care

Location: East Midlands

Pay rate: £28.50 per hour

We are looking for experienced and passionate Social Workers to join a dedicated Children in Care Team. This role involves working in a busy and supportive team that assesses and works with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide help at an earlier stage. You will work in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, supporting the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you'll make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant social work experience and excellent communication skills, you'll establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.

This role includes a capped caseload of 18, a supportive manager, home working, and dedicated time within the local authority.

You’ll be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes of your interventions. Using best practices, you'll strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you’ll have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to operate as efficiently as possible.

Perfect candidate will be:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced with Children Looked After.
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues.
  • Committed to continuous improvement for the best outcomes for children.
  • Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families.
  • Dedicated to providing high-quality services.
  • Experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment.
  • Holder of a clear Driving Licence.
  • 4+ years qualified experience.

In this role you will:

  • Make full assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
  • Manage an agreed caseload.
  • Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Devise individual care plans considering diversity, dignity, and empowerment.
  • Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students for development.
