Are you an experienced Qualified Social Worker ready to make a difference in the lives of children and families? We’re working with a local authority in the North East who are looking for passionate professionals to join their Children & Families Service — offering competitive pay, flexible working, and a collaborative team environment.

Overview

About the Role: You'll manage a diverse caseload covering Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings. From initial referral through to court involvement, you’ll play a crucial role in assessing risk, coordinating interventions, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Responsibilities
  • Managing CIN, CP, and PLO caseloads
  • Undertaking Section 47 enquiries, parenting & risk assessments
  • Writing court reports and working within the PLO framework
  • Leading multi-agency care planning and review processes
  • Building positive relationships with children and families
  • Collaborating with professionals from police, education, health and legal services
Qualifications
  • A Qualified Social Worker with a degree or equivalent in Social Work
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Experienced (2+ years) in Child Protection, CIN, or similar front-line roles
  • Confident in conducting assessments and working within legal frameworks
  • Strong in multi-agency collaboration and court work
  • Committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and families
  • Passionate, resilient, and able to build trust with families
