Qualified Social Worker

Child Protection

Location: Cumbria

Pay rate: £45 per hour

Pertemps Profession Recruitment is seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Child Protection Team. As part of this Authority’s Child Protection Service, you will join a busy and supportive team that assesses and works with vulnerable children and their families to intervene where children need support. The role involves providing help at an earlier stage to vulnerable children.

It is essential that candidates have Child Protection and Court experience. The service maintains strong links with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care involvement is no longer necessary. Successful candidates must be able to attend the locality for 3 days in the area, 2 days working from home, with a 5-day week every 5 weeks where you are required to be in the office daily for a duty week.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet identified needs.

You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes for your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to provide the best outcomes for children, supporting their ability to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and work efficiently.

Ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • SW, CSS, DipSW, or Social Work Degree; creative, flexible, and forward-thinking
  • Experience working in a Social Services Directorate or other statutory or voluntary agency
  • Committed to continuous improvement for the best outcomes
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with a range of client groups within an agency
  • Skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families
  • Committed to high-quality service provision
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment
  • Knowledge of legislation relating to social work
  • 4+ years qualified experience

  • Use specialist communication skills to achieve outcomes
  • Develop individual care plans respecting diversity and promoting dignity
