Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Assistant Team Manager, Wrexham Council, Childrens Social Work Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assist the Team Manager to manage the social work service which safeguards from harm and promotes the wellbeing of children in need / vulnerable adults to the designated client group of people who need care and support, and their carers, across the Borough in line with departmental policy based on relevant legislation.
- Assist the Team Manager to manage other fieldwork services for that same client group.
- Assist in the efficient management of the resources of the team with particular regard to the quality of service provision in accordance with WCBC policy and statutory requirements, within a given budget.
- Previous management experience is essential, strong risk assessment skills, and a proven record of front line child protection experience and court work. The candidate will work alongside three other Assistant managers.
- The team is very busy managing complex work ranging from Child in need cases, Child protection and care proceedings.
- Liaise with other professionals.
- 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
- 3 month Temporary Contract.
- Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.
