Assistant Team Manager

Location: North Wales

Pay rate: £35 per hour

We are looking for experienced and passionate Assistant Team Manager Social Workers to join our team in North Wales. We have opportunities in the Children’s Social Work teams, including Fostering, Child Protection, Court, and Children Looked After.

In this role, you will support the Team Manager and team in discharging the authority’s responsibilities under the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation concerning children in need, particularly those requiring protection and those looked after by the authority.

This role offers hybrid working patterns.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.

You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable results from your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to operate as efficiently as possible.

Perfect candidate will be:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and understanding of child protection issues.
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children.
  • Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
  • Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
  • Committed to providing our service users with high-quality service.
  • Experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary, interagency framework.
  • 4+ years qualified.

In this role, you will:

  • Use your skills, knowledge, and experience to conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
  • Manage an agreed caseload.
  • Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes for service users.
  • Devise individual care plans, considering diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment.
  • Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students to aid development.
