Qualified Social Worker – Adults (Older People’s Team)

Location: Wales 
Pay rate: £34 per hour

Are you a dedicated and experienced Adult Social Worker with a passion for Wales local authority, where your expertise will directly contribute to improving lives. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with professionals from health, therapy services, care providers, and families — all focused on early intervention and achieving the best possible outcomes for vulnerable adults.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Carry a varied caseload of adults with complex needs
  • Complete Care Act assessments and risk assessments
  • Develop person-centred care and support plans
  • Carry out safeguarding investigations and capacity assessments (MCA)
  • Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing through tailored interventions
  • Work collaboratively across agencies to prevent escalation and reduce harm
  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff and support student development

You’ll be working in line with key legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Human Rights Act, always promoting best practice and maintaining a focus on the individual.

About You

We’re looking for a social worker who is:

  • A Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
  • Experienced (2+ years) in Adult Social Care, ideally within older people’s services
  • Skilled in assessments, safeguarding, and multi-agency working
  • A strong communicator with a collaborative, person-first approach
  • Passionate about achieving meaningful outcomes for adults and families
  • Committed to professional development and continuous improvement
