About the RoleAs a Qualified Social Worker, you’ll be working with adults with learning disabilities to promote independence, improve quality of life, and support individuals in achieving their personal goals.You will:- Carry out strengths-based Care Act assessments
- Develop and review person-centred support plans
- Apply knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding Adults procedures
- Work closely with families, carers, health professionals, and other agencies
- Promote independence, inclusion, and dignity
- Ensure positive, long-term outcomes through evidence-based practice
What We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking a confident and experienced professional who brings empathy, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high-quality social work.You must have:- A degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification)
- Registration with Social Work England
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience, ideally in adult services
- Experience working with adults with learning disabilities or complex needs
- Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks
- The ability to build meaningful relationships with individuals, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, assessment, and care planning skills
- A reflective, flexible, and person-centred approach to practice
Key Responsibilities- Conduct person-centred assessments and support planning
- Manage a varied caseload and maintain accurate records
- Undertake safeguarding enquiries where necessary
- Promote independence and community engagement
- Offer advice and guidance to service users, carers, and colleagues
- Support the professional development of junior staff and students (where required)
