Qualified Social Worker

Location: Merseyside

Pay rate: £46 per hour

Our client is looking for Qualified Adult Social Workers to join the Adults Team. We seek experienced and passionate Social Workers with previous experience in Adult Social Care, familiar with legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act, and Mental Health Act. The team handles hospital transfer and discharge, referrals, and complex safeguarding cases. Candidates will work across two hospitals, conducting Care Act assessments, safeguarding, multi-agency collaboration, and duty functions.

In this role, you will support in delivering person-centred, safe, and effective social care services, making assessments and decisions about interventions based on your professional knowledge. Establishing and maintaining relationships with service users and agencies is essential to ensure services meet needs. You will aim for positive, sustainable outcomes, adhering to social care legislation and values, and striving to provide the best outcomes for individuals and families, with a focus on protecting the vulnerable.

Ideal candidate will be:

  • Registered with Social Work England as a Qualified Social Worker.
  • Holder of SW, CSS, DipSW, or a Social Work Degree, with a creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach.
  • Experience working in a Social Services Directorate or similar statutory or voluntary agency.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality services.
  • Skilled in mediation and negotiation.
  • Experienced with various client groups and working in a multidisciplinary, interagency environment.
  • Knowledgeable about social work legislation.
  • Having 4+ years of qualified experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing risks, protection needs, and social care requirements.
  • Managing an agreed caseload.
  • Using specialized communication skills to achieve outcomes.
  • Developing individual care plans respecting diversity and promoting dignity.
  • Supporting and mentoring less experienced staff and students.
