Qualified Social Worker
Asylum Through Care
Location: North East
Pay rate: £34 per hour

Pertemps Social Care is currently recruiting an experienced Childrens Senior Social Worker to join a busy team in a local authority in the North East, within the Asylum Through Care team. You will work with separated migrant young people seeking asylum in the UK and refugee care experienced young people aged between fifteen to twenty-five.

Your main role will be as a child in our care social worker, responding to needs such as NTS accommodations, age assessments, and working within a small team to offer the best support and services to young people and aid their adjustment to life in the UK. You will support young people transitioning from care, complete Pathway Plans, and ensure they are prepared to become young adults.

You will work to ensure good outcomes for the young people and that the service we provide is of high quality. This role offers excellent learning and development opportunities and values our staff highly.

In this role, you will help young people achieve their aspirations, stay safe, and strive for the best. We seek a passionate Social Worker who can advocate strongly and work closely with partner agencies. Our team assists with immigration solicitor appointments, health appointments, and engagement in education or employment. You will support young people's development of interdependence and life skills, including cooking, housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and budgeting.

This role is challenging but rewarding, allowing you to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. You will be committed to achieving positive, sustainable results through best practices, always aiming for the best outcomes for children. Candidate Profile:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Experience working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach
  • Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and issues
  • Continuous improvement mindset to achieve the best outcomes
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and families
  • High-quality service commitment
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary, interagency work
  • 4+ years qualified experience
