Qualified Social Worker - Children's Assessment

Location: North East

Pay rate: £32 per hour

We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Assessment Team. In this role within a local authority in the North East, you will work in a busy and supportive team that assesses and works with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide earlier help. Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services.

Using your professional knowledge and experience, you'll make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you'll establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.

You’ll be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes through your interventions. Striving for best practice, you’ll aim to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you’ll have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to operate as efficiently as possible.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues
  • Committed to continuous improvement for the best outcomes
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
  • Skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families
  • Dedicated to providing high-quality services
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment
  • 4+ years qualified
Role Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs
  • Manage an agreed caseload
  • Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Develop individual care plans respecting diversity, dignity, and empowerment
  • Support and advise unqualified staff and students to aid development
