Are you due to finish a school placement in May or July, and looking for your next day-to-day, short, long-term or permanent school role? If the answer is yes, I would like to speak with you ASAP.

Secondary Teacher job in Dewsbury, supply full-time & part-time, classroom-based.

Are you a skilled and adaptable teacher looking for a flexible teaching job, or a long-term, or permanent placement? We are currently seeking passionate and committed Supply Teachers to join our reputable educational institution.

Hays is one of the market-leading agencies in the education sector in West Yorkshire, and we are currently actively recruiting Cover Teachers to assist with a rising demand for supply staff. We offer a wide range of staffing solutions to local secondary schools in the area, including day-to-day supply teachers, long-term cover and permanent job opportunities. Our network of partnership schools trust and our market expertise means we have a consistent flow of jobs available all year round.

Your new role
Supply teachers play a crucial role in supporting schools during critical periods by offering specialised subject cover or general teaching assistance when regular staff members are absent. The duration of these roles may vary, and many temporary positions serve as potential pathways to more permanent teaching opportunities. As a Hays Supply Teacher, you can pick and choose your days and decline a job which isn't right for you. You can choose to work for us full-time, part-time or flexibly. We work with schools throughout the whole of West Yorkshire, so wherever you live, we have job roles available for you. It is commonplace for long-term supply roles to result in permanent job offers, making supply a brilliant way of showcasing your talent to local schools.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE, QTS, QTLS)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Adherence to professional standards and commitment to student development.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
We welcome applicants who are currently working for other agencies.

What you'll get in return as a Hays Supply Teacher, you will receive:
  • A day rate from £160- £211 per day inclusive of holiday pay. The rate depends on assignment length and responsibilities.
  • Access to the Hays App, where you can access your timesheets, holiday booking system, free training, well-being courses and a range of discounts and cash-back deals
  • £250 vouchers for referring to a friend who completes 20 days' work via Hays
  • Free CV consultation with a dedicated education consultant to support your career goals
  • A flexible work schedule that allows for a healthy work-life balance.
