Job description

Secondary schools throughout the Bristol/North Somerset/South Gloucester are looking to appoint confident and excited individuals who are fully qualified teachers. We are looking for someone with full teaching qualifications, and is eager to start with a school that is looking for teachers. There are roles available in a wide variety of schools in the South West region, in many different subjects for fully qualified teachers.

Start Date: 6th January

The Role of a Qualified Teacher

  1. As a qualified teacher, you are responsible for setting, planning and marking work in accordance with the schools’ guidelines, and ensuring such work is carried out to the best of the students' abilities.
  2. To control the behaviour of pupils in the classroom while helping them with any work you set, as well as maintaining a supportive environment.
  3. De-escalating situations within the classroom in the correct way, certifying safeguarding procedures are always adhered to.
  4. Collecting work at the end of the lesson and returning it to the appropriate recipient.
  5. Reporting any safeguarding concerns using the school’s referral procedures and safeguarding policies.

The Candidate

  1. QTS qualified with experience teaching in your chosen field.
  2. Someone who truly cares about the education of Children and Young People and enjoys working in a school environment.
  3. A person who can create positive relationships with both pupils and staff members to create the best learning environment possible.
  4. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
  5. Confidence in being in front of a class and handling potential behaviour issues.
  6. Flexible and adaptable to different situations in regards to lessons and year groups.
  7. Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
