A leading mental health service is seeking a Qualified Psychologist to join their Veterans Complex Treatment Service. This role involves delivering impactful psychological therapies tailored to veterans with mental health needs, offering both community-based and remote options. Candidates should be HCPC registered and have experience in trauma therapy. The position provides flexibility and opportunities for professional development within a supportive team environment.

Roles: 37.5 hours a week although part time / flexible working is considered

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic HCPC Registered Psychologist tojoin our team to primarily provide therapy in our Veterans Complex TreatmentService, which sits as part of the national Op Courage: Veteran MentalHealth & Wellbeing pathway in the East Midlands or East of England / East Anglia region.The ideal candidate will be looking for a varied role and bring specificexpertise in working with trauma with adults and working with complexpresentations.
Due to the travel required, a full drivers licence isdesirable. However, in return, you will also benefit from having theflexibility to work from home too (roughly 60% from home, 40% in thecommunity).

Our service specialises in developing and delivering communitybased services. We currently offer a range of servicesincluding, a busy private therapy clinic, a Medico-Legal Service, DiagnosticAssessment Clinics (ADHD and ASD), a Complex Treatment Service for MilitaryVeterans, the Assertive Transition Service and criminal justice services inLondon.
The OpCourage Integrated Veteran Mental Health & Wellbeing Service has beenrecently recommissioned by NHS England Armed Forces and offers military-sensitiveassessments, signposting, advice, liaison and intervention for UKveterans. The East of England Op Courage Service is a collaborativepartnership between EPUT, NSFT, St Andrews, Walking with the Wounded, theWarrior Programme and Mental Health Matters and aims to provide a range ofsupport for veterans and their families living in the region.
In order to be eligible for the role, the successful applicantwill be registered with the HCPC (on soon to qualify) and ideally the BPS

The Roleand Person
The successful applicant will join a highly motivated,supportive and friendly multi-disciplinary team, and will report directly to theClinical Lead. The service is psychology-led and holds psychologicalassessment and formulation, as well as the Veterans we work with, at the coreof everything it offers.
You will be responsible for delivering outcome basedpsychological therapy that is uniquely tailored to meet the needs of Veteransliving in the community. The service is community based and appointmentsare offered where possible in the Veterans locality as well as remotely viatelephone and video.
Given the nature of the client group and the geographical needsof the service, we are looking for a clinician with significant experience intreating complex mental health needs in an autonomous capacity. Beingable to demonstrate experience in treating trauma and complex mental healthneeds according to evidenced based guidelines is essential, as is experience ofworking with this client group. Experience of using a range oftherapeutic modalities including CBT, EMDR and Compassion Focused Therapy wouldalso be an advantage. Equally important would be your ability to workboth autonomously within community based settings, as well as collaborativelywith other teams and professionals. The ability to consider and findcreative and flexible solutions to engage individuals in psychologicaltreatment is an essential skill in this setting. You will be able to workindependently, as well as closely and collaboratively with other clinicians inthe team and will be an effective communicator.
Within the role, you will be encouraged to develop yourstrengths and skills through a robust structure of clinical supervision andopportunities for professional development. St Andrews has anexcellent record of providing opportunities for research, training andcontinuing professional development so you will also have access to peer supportfrom the wider Charity, as well as regular CPD events. Due to thepioneering nature of this service, there will be opportunities for servicedevelopment including co-production with service users and an interest andenthusiasm in these areas is desired.
