A healthcare organization in Liskeard is seeking a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to deliver low intensity psychological interventions for patients with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The successful candidate will assess patients and provide evidence-based care, working flexibly between 8 AM and 8 PM. The role emphasizes professional development, collaboration, and support for staff wellbeing.

The successful applicant will be an NHS employee and may therefore have contact with vulnerable service users. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been necessary to take significant steps to protect the health and safety of our staff, service users and those attending our sites. Unless exempt, we encourage and support staff to be vaccinated as this remains the best line of defence against COVID-19.
As a PWP, you play an integral part in the everyday workings of the service, from promotional work to assessing patients to providing clinical evidence-based interventions to help service users make lasting changes in managing their mental health.
Post holders will be completing clinical contacts 1:1 face to face, over the telephone, video consultation, group courses (remotely and in person) and CBT. Where needed, holding discussions with step 3 and/or step 4 clinicians to ensure step ups and safe onward referrals are completed and that patient dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
The post-holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. The post-holder will be required to work at any times between 8am and 8pm on weekdays as required by the service.
