Qualified Nursing Associate

Are you a Qualified Nursing Associate looking to join an innovative team with a drive for compassionate, patient-centred care?

We are looking for an established or new Qualified Nursing Associate to join Willows Ward, which is a 15 bed assessment and treatment ward for older adults aged 65 and over with memory difficulties, dementia or functional mental health problems, such as depression, psychosis and other related illnesses.

You will be supported within a multidisciplinary team consisting of occupational therapists, psychiatrists, physiotherapists, activity workers and assistant practitioners.

We provide a range of training and educational opportunities, clinical supervision and peer group support to help you develop in the role.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred compassionate care under the direction of a registered nurse with a focus on promoting health and independence

Be an accountable professional

Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual

Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction of a registered nurse

Have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual's defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
  • Care Certificate
  • Educated to a minimum level 5 foundation degree specific to nursing associate practice
  • GCSE level 4-9 in Maths and English or equivalent
Experience
  • Previous experience of working within a health / care setting
  • Understanding of the importance of the promotion of health and wellbeing (Making Every Contact Count)
Knowledge
  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Evidence of time management skills and ability to prioritise
  • IT skills appropriate to the role
  • Ability to communicate with members of the public and health and care providers
