Job Title: Nursery Nurse

Purpose of the post: To provide high standards of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children in the nursery. Support other staff, implement daily routines, and ensure compliance with policies and legislation.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Adhere to nursery policies and procedures, comply with The Children Act, Health and Safety legislation, and OFSTED standards.
  • Contribute to planning and preparing activities tailored to children's needs and ensure their progression.
  • Observe and document children's development, maintaining updated developmental files.
  • Liaise with and support parents and family members.
  • Be flexible and assist with domestic tasks such as snack preparation and cleaning.
  • Participate in out-of-hours activities like staff meetings, training, and events.
  • Promote equal opportunities, manage children's behavior positively, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Set a good example for staff and students, assist with staff integration.
  • Supervise meals, snacks, and ensure children's hygiene and safety, including administering medication and recording accidents.
  • Respect confidentiality, work as part of a team, and support the nursery's high standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and undertake other duties as directed.
