Job description

We are seeking a qualified Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with young children, excellent communication skills, and a nurturing demeanor. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the nursery and promoting the holistic development of the children in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities and experiences that support children learning and development.
  • Provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn.
  • Support children personal care routines, including feeding, toileting, and nap times.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, maintaining open and effective communication at all times.
  • Observe and assess children progress, documenting their achievements and identifying areas for further development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create and maintain a warm, welcoming, and inclusive nursery environment.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
