Job summary

Bright Horizons Basildon Day Nursery & Preschool in Basildon, Essex, is seeking a Qualified Lunch Cover for 20 hours per week (Mon-Fri 11.30am-3.30pm). Starting pay £13.50 per hour, with enhanced DBS checks and a focus on safeguarding. This role requires a Level 3+ Early Years qualification and a passion for inclusive learning.

You will support developmental activities, foster a safe, nurturing environment, and work with parents and staff to ensure high-quality care across the EYFS framework.

• Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding.
• Ability to build trust with parents and colleagues.

Salary - Starting from £13.50 per hour (dependent on qualification/s and experience)

Hours - Part time - 20 hours, Monday - Friday from 11.30am - 3.30pm (all year round)

The Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will plan, create, implement and reflect on engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones. You will create a safe environment that allows children the freedom to express themselves, engage their minds, and help to foster a lifelong love of learning.

What We're Looking For

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents/ carers
