Job description

A Vacancy at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking a qualified Speciality Neonatal Nurse with relevant certification. Please note that applications without this qualification will not be shortlisted.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and implementing high-quality patient care practices, supporting and guiding staff, and assisting the NICU Nurse in Charge to ensure seamless unit operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Working effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
  2. Supervising junior staff and taking charge of the clinical area when required.
  3. Coordinating patient care and communicating changes promptly.
  4. Ensuring infection prevention and control guidelines are followed.
  5. Managing the safe administration of medications.
  6. Developing approaches to promote health and wellbeing.
  7. Maintaining accurate clinical records.
  8. Providing support during emergency situations and demonstrating advanced clinical skills.
  9. Acting as a role model and using leadership skills to foster a safe and supportive environment.
  10. Reporting clinical incidents and near misses promptly.
  11. Being aware of cot capacity during duty hours.
