An inclusive and high-achieving secondary school in Harrow is looking for an exceptional Food Technology specialist to join their Design and Technology faculty from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to teach students essential life skills, promote healthy living, and develop their creativity and independence through exciting, hands-on learning.
Role Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Food Preparation and Nutrition lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teach practical and theoretical elements aligned with the national curriculum and GCSE specs
Develop students’ understanding of food hygiene, nutrition, sustainability and culinary skills
Organise and maintain equipment and ensure food safety regulations are followed
Foster a creative and respectful classroom environment
Track and assess pupil progress in line with school policies
Contribute to curriculum development and cross-departmental planning
Support extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs or themed weeks
Candidate Specification
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
Specialism in Food Technology, Food and Nutrition, or related subject
Experience teaching at KS3 and GCSE level
A strong understanding of health, safety and food hygiene standards
Desirable Experience
Experience working in or with hospitality or catering industries
Knowledge of exam boards such as AQA, OCR or Eduqas
Prior involvement in school events, competitions or STEM/DT clubs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
