Job Title: Qualified English Tutor
Location: Uxbridge, London
Contract Type: Temporary, Flexible, Part-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: Starting from £25/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

In this role, you will deliver personalised lessons that foster a love for English and improve academic performance. You will work closely with students to identify learning gaps, develop effective study strategies, and boost their confidence. Your ability to tailor lessons to meet individual needs is essential-especially for students who require additional support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, one-to-one or small group English tuition tailored to the needs of secondary students.
  • Develop and implement individualised lesson plans that focus on improving literacy, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles, including approaches for students with additional support needs.
  • Create an inclusive and encouraging learning environment that inspires students to excel.

Requirements

  • PGCE in Secondary English and/or QTS.
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching/tutoring experience in English.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).

Desired Qualities

  • Experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) students is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
