Vacancy Details

Location: Rochdale MHST, Unit 2 Argyle Parade, Rochdale, OL10 3RY

Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday, flexible options available

Salary: £29,970 - £36,483 per annum, NHS Band 5

Role Overview

As an EMHP, you will deliver CBT Evidence-Based Interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health issues in educational settings. You will support children with more severe issues to access specialist services and assist staff in promoting mental health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outcome-focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings
  • Support self-management of mental health difficulties with children, families, and educators
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in partnership with children, young people, and their families
  • Provide individual and group interventions
  • Participate in case discussions, multi-agency meetings, and supervision
Person Specification
Essential Experience and Qualifications
  • Completed 1-year Post Graduate Certificate in Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)
  • Registration as an EMHP or in-progress application with BABCP or BPS
  • Experience managing caseloads of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs
  • Experience delivering psychological interventions in community and educational settings
Skills and Knowledge
  • Understanding of CYP-IAPT principles and routine outcome measures
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and multi-agency working
  • Understanding child development and the educational system
  • Ability to assess, plan, and deliver care programs
  • Excellent communication and empathy skills
