Job description
Overview

We are seeking an Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) to join our North Herts Mental Health Support Team (MHST). The team supports 20 schools across the borough and offers a flexible, supportive environment with clear objectives and regular supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Provide early‑intervention support to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health concerns in an educational setting.
  • Work alongside qualified EMHPs, Senior Practitioners and a Team Leader to facilitate group work and workshops.
  • Deliver support year‑round, including during school holidays.
  • Collaborate with staff from diverse cultural backgrounds and use interpreters when necessary.
  • Contribute to service development and participate in continuous professional development.
Qualifications

Qualified EMHP or CWP with experience working in a school or educational setting. Commitment to equal opportunities and a supportive, collaborative attitude.

Hours & Location

Monday to Friday 9:00–17:00; occasional work outside core hours for group facilitation. North Herts HQ with access to the 20 supported schools.
