Barnardos Kaikōura Early Learning Centre seeks a passionate, qualified early childhood teacher for a permanent 35-hour position in our beautiful coastal community. This position offers FULL PAY PARITY with kindergarten and primary teachers.

The centre:

Our purpose-built facility combines indoor learning with outdoor adventures in one of New Zealand's most stunning coastal locations. With gardens, monkey bars, hanging ropes, and spacious play areas, you'll guide children aged 0-6 in exploration and discovery. For over 50 years, our centre has provided quality early learning while celebrating our diverse community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement Te Whāriki curriculum through responsive, play-based learning
  • Plan and evaluate learning programs based on children's interests
  • Create inclusive learning opportunities celebrating diversity
  • Document children's progress through profile books and e-portfolios
  • Maintain professional standards and ECE best practices

Requirements:

  • NZQA approved qualification in early childhood teaching
  • Full registration with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Current practicing certificate
  • Experience working with young children
  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
