Job summary

Bright Horizons Kirkby Day Nursery is seeking a qualified Bank Staff Member to support nursery teams with EYFS delivery, enabling flexible, secure employment.

You will work with colleagues to keep children safe and engaged, contribute to a caring environment, and enjoy benefits such as discounted childcare and wellbeing resources.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in nurseries is desirable.
• Ability to engage children through play and learning activities.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles.

Responsibilities

• Support EYFS delivery by engaging children in age-appropriate activities and monitoring development.
• Collaborate with nursery staff to complete day-to-day tasks and maintain hygiene standards.
• Promote child welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding in the setting.

Hourly Rate

£11.67 - £12.12 per hour (depends on qualification/s and experience)

What you'll be doing

• Support Nursery colleagues with their delivery of the EYFS, by engaging children in entertaining and educational play and activities, encouraging their development towards key milestones, and ensuring their safety throughout the day
• Work as part of a larger team, to ensure all essential day-to-day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands i.e. hygiene standards and room preparation
• Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
• Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment

What we're looking for

• Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
• Previous experience working with children (Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Nurse, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder or similar)
• Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
• Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
• Sound understanding of child protection and the safeguarding of children
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable
